RESEARCH
Most of the scientific activity of PÜSKÜRÜM project is field-based volcanic geology to characterise in-situ the CAVP proximal pyroclastic deposits (Turkey). Laboratory analyses from pumice samples collected during the fieldwork are giving essential information (e.g. geochemistry and geochronology) to reconstruct the volcanic history of the region.
FIELDWORK
Characterisation of pyroclastic deposits around Acigöl caldera, Hasandağ and Erciyes stratovolcanoes to identify different explosive eruptions (i.e. by geological mapping, tephrostratigraphic logging, and sampling of volcanic products).
LABORATORY
Tephras sampled in Turkey will be analysed to measure major and trace elements abundance in volcanic glass and mineral crystals (by EMP and LA-ICP-MS), as well as to get absolute ages of the former eruptions (by C14, U/Th and Ar/Ar).

Dissemination of PÜSKÜRÜM products on international conferences and indexed scientific journals.
DATA REPOSITORY
All the PÜSKÜRÜM papers and datasets (i.e., glass chemistry, geochronology data, etc.), will be open-access and available to everyone (FAIR).
