Research and professional experience
2021- present
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship, Department of Earth Sciences, Sapienza – University of Rome. Principal Investigator (PI) of the PÜSKÜRÜM project: Characterisation of the late Pleistocene pyroclastic deposits in Central Anatolia to reconstruct the recent explosive volcanic history, synchronise sedimentary records, and better assess volcanic hazards in Turkey
2019 – 2021

2018
Geologist at the Observatory of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) of El Salvador (duties: volcanic and earthquakes Geology, volcano monitoring, tephrostratigraphy, risk assessment, divulgation, etc.).
Research Topics
1. Tephrochronology (i.e. tephra correlations by chemical fingerprint, tephrostratigraphy and geochronological dating) and characterization of proximal pyroclastic deposits.
- Physical volcanology and reconstruction of eruptive histories (including large explosive eruptions).
- Volcano-tectonic processes during formation and geologic evolution of collapse calderas (including analogue modelling).
- Evaluation of volcanic impacts in past societies and paleoclimatic/environmental reconstructions.
5. Neotectonic and paleoseismological studies for better hazard assessments.
